Fire Sales & Distributors cc. was established early in 1995, with its Principal members having in excess of 40 years of combined experience in the Fire Protection Industry.

The Managing Member, Pieter Lombard has been in the industry since 1961, and highly experienced in the Design and Installation of all types of Fire Protection Systems, with particular emphasis on Automatic Sprinkler Systems.

In this regard, he holds a “Competent Person’s Certificate” as issued by The Automatic Inspection Bureau (ASIB). The other Principal Member, Willie v/d Schyff, has in addition to general experience in the Fire Protection Industry, gained considerable experience in the Manufacture of Specialized Fire Protection Equipment.

The Company has implemented a BEE Strategy together with the Implementation of employment of PDI.  In this regard the staff component has increased with more than 60 % with PDI.  Fire Sales & Distributors also employs a group of Black Empowered Companies in the Contracts & Small Works field to enhanced BEE initiatives.

Apart from the aforementioned, Fire Sales & Distributors cc. is the sole distributor of Globe Sprinklers and Valves in South Africa and manufactures and supplies various ASIB Approved Overhaul Kits to the Fire Protection Industry, for the service and overhaul of Sprinkler System Alarm Valves and Deluge Valves.

In addition, we have designed and manufactured our own “Direct Reading” flow meter, commonly known as a “Water Supply Proving Apparatus”, as required by ASIB, to be installed into every Automatic Sprinkler System. This unit has been fully approved by ASIB, and is being widely used by the Sprinkler Installation Industry.

Yesterday all servers in the U.S. went out on strike in a bid to get more RAM and better CPUs. A spokes person said that the need for better RAM was due to some fool increasing the front-side bus speed. In future, buses will be told to slow down in residential motherboards.
